Ferrous metals contain iron and stick to a magnet, like steel and cast iron. Non-ferrous metals do not stick to a magnet, like copper, brass and aluminum, and usually pay more per pound.

Go to the yard closest to you: Bunnell for Palm Coast and Flagler County, Holly Hill for Daytona Beach and Volusia County, or Palatka for Putnam County. In Bunnell, ferrous metal goes to 3325 S US Hwy 1 and non-ferrous metal goes to 3625 S US Hwy 1. Use our Yard Finder to check a specific item.

We weigh scrap on certified scales and pay by weight based on the type of metal.

Yes. We accept A/C units, refrigerators, freezers, stoves, washers, dryers, dishwashers and water heaters. Freon must be removed before you bring A/C units, refrigerators, freezers or dehumidifiers.

Yes. We buy car, truck, marine, golf cart and lawn tractor batteries at our scrap yards.

Sorting copper, brass, aluminum and steel into separate piles helps you get the best price for each metal and speeds up your visit.

We pay cash on the spot, or by company check if there isn't enough cash on hand.

Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Florida law also requires a thumbprint and signature for each scrap sale.

Yes. We buy junk cars, trucks, SUVs and vans, running or not, at our Bunnell, Holly Hill and Palatka (Madison St) yards.

A title is not required. We pay cash when you bring a title and pay by check for vehicles sold without one, following Florida derelict vehicle laws.

Yes. Our Bunnell, Holly Hill and Palatka Metals yards offer junk car towing and pickup for individual customers. The towing cost is deducted from your payout. Call the yard nearest you to schedule.

Yes. We buy wrecked, totaled, flood-damaged and non-running vehicles.

No. Roll-off containers and scrap hauling are for commercial accounts only, such as contractors, job sites and businesses.

Commercial roll-offs and scrap hauling are available from our Bunnell, Holly Hill and Palatka Metals yards.

We supply 20-yard and 30-yard roll-off containers, 6 feet high. Drop-offs and swaps are usually done within 24–48 hours depending on the schedule. Commercial accounts are paid by monthly check, ACH or wire transfer.

Bring your own tools, find the vehicle you need, pull the used parts yourself and pay at the counter on the way out.

Bring the hand tools you need for your job, such as sockets, wrenches, screwdrivers and pry bars, plus gloves and eye protection. Cordless battery-powered tools are allowed. Saws of any kind are not permitted.

Vehicles change often. Call the Bunnell yard at 386-437-2163 to ask what's in the yard before you come.

Yes. Entry to the U-Pull-It yard is $1.

No. All used parts are sold as-is and all sales are final.

No. We do not offer financing. We accept cash or card.

No. All John's Famous locations are closed on Saturday and Sunday. We're open Monday to Friday.
