FAQ

Appliance recycling FAQ

Can I drop off just one appliance?

Yes. Homeowners can bring a single appliance or a full truckload to the yard.

Do you pick up old appliances?

Scrap metal pick-up and hauling are for commercial accounts only. Homeowners can drop appliances off at the yard.

Do you take appliances with Freon?

Yes, once the Freon has been removed. Freon must be taken out before drop-off. Federal rules require refrigerant to be recovered properly before a refrigerator, freezer or A/C unit is scrapped.

Should I take the motor out of my washer?

You don't have to. Some sellers remove motors because they can grade separately, but whole appliances are accepted.

What ID do I need to sell scrap?

Bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Florida law requires scrap yards to record seller identification.
